Family of Services
We provide a unique combination of prevention and intervention services each designed to help parents put their children's needs first. Through our "family of services" we help more than 4800 families annually.

Parent Support Groups
You’ll find other parents who understand what you’re feeling and experiencing at free, weekly self-help groups. The parent-directed and professionally facilitated group is a safe place to share frustrations and learn from each other.

One mother drove 20 minutes to take her sick son to his father’s house and then drove back in time for the last half-hour of the meeting. “If I had to drive two hours to get here, I would. It’s that important to me and my kids.”
Parent Education Classes
Unlock the knowledge you already hold and share your wisdom with others. These classes teach effective communication and disciplinary skills for parenting children, from birth to young adulthood.

Here’s what one father wrote on his class evaluation: “Most of us are not born knowing these ideas... If more people would take this class there would be fewer frustrated children and parents. It made me understand I’m not alone.”
A Children's Group is run in conjunction with our groups and classes. They provide fun activities and creative projects as avenues for both expression and education. Our trained, experienced volunteers provide children with a structured opportunity to learn appropriate skills for socializing and self control.
This service is free for the children of parents and care givers attending Families First parenting classes, seminars or support groups.

A father and mother of preschoolers shared these thoughts: “We were planning to go to the class anyway, but when we heard what our kids would be learning - well, we make this a big part of our weekly family time.”

Family Support Line
Asking for help is a sign of strength! We provide a listening ear for times when parenting is tough, and we have good referral information. Callers experience great comfort being able to discuss problems that appear overwhelming.

Volunteers are available 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. At other times, you may leave a message and your call will be returned within 24 hours. If you are outside the Denver Metro area, please call our toll free number: 877-695-7996.

This mom called after another frustrating day with her three children - “When I picked up the phone and someone was there, suddenly the problem wasn’t so out of control anymore. I knew I had a person who could help me through it.”
Residential Treatment
Our Children’s Center offers a warm and homelike environment for young children who have been abused or neglected. Trained staff provide a therapeutic, corrective experience and respond to each child’s physical and psychological needs. Family members are guided to change old patterns and harmful interactions which, if left untreated, may jeopardize the child’s return home.

Asking for help is a sign of strength!
